Her birthday cake. We have a tradition that the first birthday cake is Surprise Cake. All it is are different colors of white cake mixed together, so when you cut into it, you get splashes of colors. Lydia had pink, purple and green in her cake. We took the little star on top off the cake, and that was hers.
Surrounded by presents! We just had grandparents (and Aunt Julia and Uncle Neil) over, but she got lots of cute clothes, a couple of dolls (even her 1st Barbie, which she enjoys sucking on her feet) and a book. She didn't realize that they were all for her. I guess that she is used to "sharing" with her big brothers.
Lydia is the sweetest baby ever! She is always smiling and happy. She is just a little pixie of a thing. At her well child check, she tops the scales at 18 lbs even and she is only 27 3/4 in. tall. She also still wears her newborn size shoes! That is just fine by me-I don't want my princess to grow up too fast. And she is a princess-with all of us to dote on her, she gets whatever she wants. I feel bad for when she starts to like boys-with her 2 older brothers, they will never even get to the door! They are so protective and loving to her. And she loves them right back. Rarely are they not playing with each other. I am so thankful for such wonderful kids. I really lucked out!
P.S. For anyone who actually reads this, I realize that I have been major fail on blogging. I am back and want to keep this record of my family-so look for more in the near future!
